OUR HISTORY

Since 2013

Making Connections and creating the garden.

In 2012 the Uniting Church committee decided that their grounds, including disused tennis courts and hall, were not being used to their full potential. They wanted to create a place where a sense of belonging and community would grow. Around this time a Community Garden Steering Committee approached the church looking for a space to establish a garden.

With mutual agreement the Tree of Life Community Garden was born. A Memorandum of Understanding was developed, with the garden space being leased for a peppercorn rent. The space has grown into a thriving garden where people can meet, share ideas and enjoy social gatherings.

“To plant a garden is to dream of tomorrow”.
